Today our class was postponed so that we could climb to the top of
notre dame first thing in the morning, since the line gets really long
later in the day. It was a neat experience, you can see the gargoyles up close and go inside the famous bell tower. However if you are just looking for somewhere to get a great view of Paris, I would probably recommend either Sacre Coeur or Arc de Triomphe instead. Notre Dame is really crowded at the top because the walkway is very narrow. (I didn't have time to go to the higher tower so I don't know if its better up there.)
